The embodied Artist

June 14-20, 2020

The Art MOnastery, Springfield, VT

Co-hosted with the Art Monastery Project

This weeklong residency program is designed to offer you a perfect blend of structure and freedom to take your creative project to the next level.

This retreat is a fantastic combination of self-care and creative practice. We will spend the first half of the day practicing meditation, singing, and doing Catalyst Training. Catalyst Training is a 3-hour embodiment class aimed at helping you connect to your body, stretch and strengthen your muscles, learn to move gracefully, and feel into your breath. This class will meet you where you are. Neva, the creator and instructor, is incredibly good at personalizing the class to work for each participant (see quotes below). After lunch you’ll have a solid 4-5 hours of uninterrupted creative work time. In the evenings there will be an opportunity to share any work that you’ve made and receive feedback.

We believe the combination of embodied practice with art practice is incredibly potent! Once the body and mind are ready, creativity, energy, focus, and inspiration can more easily flow.

This type of focused, supportive environment is an excellent way to create art and discover new things about your body/mind. We have found that working in a contemplative space where other people are also diving into their creative practices, often supercharges creativity and focus.

We have one large indoor movement space, which we will share between artists creating dance or theater. The retreat is set on 7 acres of land over-looking the Connecticut River. So there will be plenty of outdoor spaces for moving, creating sound, or generally being inspired by nature!

We welcome your wild self!

We want to meet her, in all her glory!

This weeklong retreat is built to help you step into your full power, and revitalize your body and mind.

Especially in our current cultural and ecological environment, it’s an essential time for women* to come together. We will support and connect with each other and be ready to enter back into our communities to offer our knowledge, passion, and visions.

It’s a time for you to truly take care of yourself. A time for you to connect with your deep, powerful inner self.
